This program will examine the evidentiary issues of using graphics both demonstratively and as “real evidence” by incorporating discussions of numerous studies on how jurors are visual learners who understand and retain information better when it is presented with well-designed visual aids. This presentation will focus on issues relevant to employment law litigation, including class actions, such as: showing large amounts of data visually; summaries of complex data as admissible evidence; timelines to construct a narrative of the case; and additional ideas on how attorneys can prepare some of these visual aids for themselves.
